We’re looking for our next Building Operations Assistant — a hands-on role that blends building maintenance, holiday coverage, and operations support. You’ll help us keep our contracts running smoothly, assist with projects and quoting, and become a key part of our redundancy plan as we grow.

About the Role
Reporting directly to ownership, you’ll:
- Take on assigned buildings (2–4 contracts) with routine visits and client interaction
- Handle one-off handyman jobs (light repairs, patching, painting, lighting, doors, etc.)
- Provide holiday coverage and join the on-call rotation (with overtime opportunities)
- Shadow Doug (co-owner) to learn systems, buildings, and operations
- Assist with quoting, project coordination, and SOP creation
- Support seasonal projects like spring sweeping (Apr–May)
- Pick up/drop off supplies and assist other team members as needed
This is a hybrid role: mostly hands-on building maintenance, with a portion of quoting, admin, and operations support.
Who You Are
- Experienced in hands-on building/property maintenance, general contracting, or handyman work
- Comfortable with basic repairs (painting, patching drywall, lighting, doors, minor fixes)
- Reliable, independent, and adaptable — able to move between sites without needing constant direction
- Personable and emotionally mature — great with tenants, property managers, and coworkers
- Tech-comfortable, including using AI tools, apps, and reporting systems to streamline work
- Based in Kelowna with your own reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
- Willing to participate in a criminal background check
Nice to Have:
- Experience with quoting or project coordination
- Comfort writing SOPs or documenting how-tos
- Growth mindset — eager to learn, receive feedback, and take on more responsibility over time
Compensation & Incentives
- $26–28/hour (depending on experience)
