Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Alarm Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of alarm systems, including intrusion detection systems (IDS), CCTV, access control and low voltage wiring. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to read blueprints and schematics. The Alarm Technician will work closely with clients to ensure their security needs are met effectively.
Duties
- Install, configure, and maintain alarm systems, DSC, Paradox, Elk
- Troubleshoot and repair existing alarm systems to ensure optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand system layouts.
- Collaborate with clients to assess their security requirements and provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct regular inspections of alarm systems to detect potential issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during installations.
- Build and maintain computer networking connections for integrated security systems.
- Provide training and support to clients on the use of their alarm systems.
Experience
- Proven experience in the alarm, CCTV and card access field is preferred.
- Familiarity with low voltage wiring techniques and installation practices.
- Knowledge of telecommunication systems is a plus.
- Experience in reading schematics and blueprints effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to detect issues quickly.
- Previous experience with computer networking as it relates to security systems is advantageous.
Requirements:
- 1–2 years of relevant field experience
- Working knowledge of alarm systems and components
- Must have a reliable vehicle and personal tools
- Willingness to travel outside the Greater Toronto Area (travel expenses covered)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Pay: $21.50-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 44 per week
