The Opportunity:
We are seeking an admin assistant/steri tech for our dental office in Westlock, AB. Yl. Our office operates from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekdays and is closed on weekends and statutory holidays. This is a permanent Part-time (16 hours per week) or full-time (35 hours per week) position.

Daily Responsibilities:
- Optimize the appointment schedule to ensure a complete, efficient day with minimal gaps.
- Handle patient calls and inquiries with a friendly and professional attitude, including appointment confirmations and modifications.
- Manage potential cancellations and encourage patients to keep their scheduled appointments.
- Process patient billing, accept payments, submit insurance claims, and respond to fee inquiries.
- Collect outstanding balances professionally and courteously.
- Maintain an accurate patient recall system and database.
- Process referral letters and patient correspondence promptly.
- Organize and file patient records and charts accurately.
- Coordinate lab cases efficiently.
- Manage the office social media
- Prepare dental instruments for procedures, including cleaning, disinfecting, and sterilizing instruments and equipment.
- Ensure sterilization equipment is adequately maintained and operated per manufacturer guidelines.
- Keep detailed records of all sterilization processes to maintain compliance and ensure patient safety.
- Monitor inventory levels of sterilization supplies and reorder as needed.
- Adhere to safety protocols for handling and disposing of contaminated materials, chemicals, and equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized sterilization and storage area.
- Prepare treatment rooms before the dentist arrives by disinfecting and arranging necessary instruments and materials.
Essential Requirements:
- High school diploma.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong computer and typing abilities.
- Confident, outgoing personality.
- Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
- Motivation and ability to learn quickly.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Passion for working in a dental office.
- Interest in becoming a Registered Dental Assistant.
- Residence within a 30-minute drive from Westlock.
Preferred but Not Required:
- At least one year of experience as a dental sterilization technician.
- At least one year of experience working in a dental office.
