Midwest Fabricators is looking for an Accounting Assistant to join the team. This is a temporary job for 1-1.5 year for maternity leave coverage.
- Must take ownership of core tasks and communicate effectively with all operations.
- AR data entry, sending invoices to customers and work on collections.
- AP data entry and disbursements (cheques and credit cards).
- Enter financial transactions as directed.
- Assist with payroll processing (time sheet entry, payroll reconciliation and preparation)
- Assist with month end & year end reconciliations.
- Work with Controller/Management as directed
- Prepare GST reconciliations.
- Distribute reports
- Maintain spreadsheets
- Willingness to assist others in tasks that are not necessarily your responsibility.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures, past accounting experience would be desirable
- Be able to analyze data
- Hands on experience with MS Excel.
- Be familiar with MS Office
- Be able to keep up in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to multitask.
- Be able to voice questions or concerns.
- Be able to keep up with fluctuating work volume
This is an in-office position and remote work is not available.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
