Employment Status: Contract – 1 Year

Salary: $31.34 – 37.46 /HR – 35 Hours per Week

Location: Naughton, ON

POSITION SCOPE:


The Anti Guns and Gang (AGG) Youth Prevention Worker, under the direction of the Child and Youth Services Manager, will primarily be responsible for the implementation of the Guns and Gangs Project Youth Prevention Program for Atikameksheng Anishnawbek.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Post Secondary education in Social Work, Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, law and/or other relevant education.
  • OSSD
  • Experience working with Youth in prevention programming and knowledge of the criminal youth Justice System.
  • Valid Ontario Class ‘G’ Driver’s License

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Attend conferences, training, and meetings to remain current with information related to youth prevention, crime prevention, justice, and young offenders as needed.
  • Offer programing to youth in the community incorporating crime prevention and education.
  • Plan and implement relationship building and prevention strategies with local Police, Ontario Provincial Police and Greater Sudbury Police Services and other agencies as deemed appropriate.
  • Collaborate with Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Downtown Hub to implement prevention program for Urban Youth.
  • Prepare monthly program and statistical reports
  • Complete required financial requests and reconcile expenditures
  • Develop and contribute to annual workplan and budget development
