What You'll Be Doing
The primary purpose of the Workers’ Compensation Case Manager is to represent the Client Company’s interest and to provide claims advice following Workers’ Compensation statutes and policies to: effect an appropriate/speedy return to work for the employee; minimize/mitigate costs for the Client; and satisfy the needs of the Client, thereby continuing the business relationship. This position will be reporting directly to the Director of Claims Management. This position has a term of 1 year with the possibility of extension.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Workers’ Compensation cases following legislation, policies and procedures and being cognizant of other impacting legislation;
- Pursue cost recovery, cost containment and cost avoidance opportunities on behalf of the Client Company;
- Maintain excellent working relations with the client and effective liaison with Workers’ Compensation Boards
- Provide timely, clear and concise reports to the Client and provincial workers’ compensation boards and other stakeholders as required;
- Co-coordinate customer interface through regular meetings, on site consultation and telephone communications as necessary;
- Provide claims review and timely completion of employer reporting forms to CNESST, BEM and other governing bodies as required
- Prepare objections and appeals, representing the interests of the employer
- Case management activities to include correspondence with the injured worker/employee, drafting return to work plans, facilitate and attend meetings
- Meet defined objectives of client satisfaction, service delivery and billing expectations;
- Assist in the generation and capitalization of opportunities for new revenue.
General Performance Expectations:
- Maintain current technical knowledge in Workers’ Compensation and related legislation;
- Maintain regular communication with clients to foster a strong client relationship;
- Collaborate with clients and internal team members to ensure goals are being met;
What You Need to Be Successful
- College diploma or university degree in a paralegal or related field (e.g. Business, Social Sciences, Administration)
- A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in adjudication and case/claims management, based on interpretation of relevant statutes and principles, in the Workers’ Compensation / CNESST environment.
- Professional development related to Workers’ Compensation and other impacting legislation;
- Having the options required in the appeal process for decisions at the TAT
- 3 years of experience in return-to-work planning and facilitation
What You Need to Stand Out
- Disability management experience is an asset
- Having knowledge and experience of the financial impact of files is an asset
- CNESST case management experience
- Fluent in both French and English is an asset

Schedule:
- Full-time 37.5 hours per week
