We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Wheel Maintenance Technician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, and assisting with repairing the ferries wheel; to ensure it's safety & performance. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with tools, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to high-quality work.
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Executes the Wheel maintenance tasks according to the maintenance protocols as defined by the Maintenance manual and La Grande Roue de Montreal.
- Responsible for the assigned work duties/tasks, inspections, reports, and in consultation with the senior wheel maintenance technician, adjusts as needed.
- Ensures the daily start-up of the wheel by testing and/or calibrating the relevant machines and equipment and checks the activities/ carried out repairs of the previous day.
- Assists in performing and/or managing the daily, weekly, and monthly inspections of the wheel and components and reports issues to the wheel manager.
- Performs the cleaning, lubricating and greasing of various components of the wheel and performs other routine and unplanned maintenance work using hand power tools.
- Identifies defective or worn-out parts and components and in consultation with the wheel manager, makes repairs or replaces the parts and components.
- Performs general maintenance tasks on and around the Wheel as instructed by the senior wheel technician.
- Acts as an additional source of information and is available for questions within the Wheel department and takes care of troubleshooting and solving problems, with the approval of the senior maintenance technician.
- Assists in the programming of the lightshows for the wheel.
- Operates the wheel as required once maintenance tasks are done.
- Carries out other job-related activities that are assigned by the senior maintenance technician
Job Requirements
- 1–2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, or assembly, with familiarity in using common tools
- Experience with working in a team environment
- Be willing to perform physically demanding work, working at heights and working in different weather conditions if necessary.
- Schedule flexibility: overnights, weekends, overtime as required
- Ability to multi-task and manage stress during peak demand times
- Fluent in both French and English is an asset
