We are currently looking for a Customer Service Counter and Warehouse Associate to join our dynamic team at our Lindsay, Ontario branch.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Warehouse/Counter position will provide customer service excellence at both warehouse operations and counter sales. The successful candidate must be highly organized with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines and customer commitments.
The Customer Service Counter and Warehouse Associate will be responsible for a variety of tasks including:
Counter Responsibilities:
- Serves customers by phone or in-person ensuring the customer’s order is entered accurately into our system.
- Answer pricing enquiries and stock checks. Provide technical information and product specifications.
- Coordinate delivery arrangements with the customer and monitor scheduled shipment dates to ensure timely delivery and expedite as needed.
- Create and maintain product displays that engages customers and helps stimulate sales activity, keeping merchandise and counter areas clean and professional.
- Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications. Communicate promotional sale items as well as discounted slow moving and obsolete inventory.
- Proactive contact with customers to ensure ongoing satisfaction and remind current on consumer preferences, changes in local codes and product developments.
- Perform various branch administration; billing; vendor returns, etc.
- Assists in annual physical inventory counts.
Warehouse Responsibilities:
- Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule.
- Receive and process warehouse stock products.
- Loads Company vehicles/trucks when all material is ready for delivery. Ensures all material is securely loaded for safe transport.
- Ensure that inventory is store and protected from damage and readily available for shipment.
- Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
- Keep a clean and safe working environment and optimize space utilization.
- Operate and maintain preventatively warehouse vehicles and equipment.
- Follow quality service standards and comply with procedures, rules and regulations.
What You Offer
- Minimum 2-3 years related technical/sales experience preferably in Plumbing or HVAC industry, ideally within a wholesale distribution environment, coupled with warehouse logistics experience,
- Post-secondary educations in Plumbing or HVAC, or equivalent experience, preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
- Strong attention to detail,
- Positive attitude and customer service oriented with a sense of urgency, and
- Computer literate; Basic MS Outlook, Word and Excel skills.
- Ability to life up to 50 lbs unassisted

Experience:
- HVAC or Plumbing: 2 years (preferred)
