Vice President, Information Technology (IT)
Due to the retirement of the current incumbent, we are looking for a strategic, business-minded technology leader who thrives on driving innovation and aligning IT with big-picture goals. As our new Vice President of Information Technology, you’ll play a vital role in shaping our company’s future—building secure, scalable systems while leading a team that’s passionate about delivering top-tier service to our customers and internal stakeholders.
Reporting directly to the President, this executive-level role blends high-level strategy with hands-on leadership. If you’re energized by the opportunity to act as a trusted advisor to ownership and the leadership team—while also building an empowered, customer-focused IT function—this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development and execution of the company’s overall technology vision in alignment with business goals.
- Oversee IT operations across cybersecurity, infrastructure, cloud systems, application development, network security, and regulatory compliance (e.g. PCI).
- Act as a business partner and advisor to senior leadership, identifying and delivering tech solutions that support business growth.
- Inspire and lead a high-performing IT team through hands-on coaching, strategic prioritization, and collaboration across departments.
- Ensure data security, business continuity, and disaster recovery planning meet or exceed industry standards (e.g., NIST framework).
- Build strong vendor relationships, manage technology contracts, and drive cost-effective investment in IT resources.
- Proven leadership in an executive IT role, ideally within a vertically integrated company.
- A solid background in IT security—especially cybersecurity, internal awareness/training, network segmentation, and PCI.
- A customer-first mindset and track record of implementing scalable, enterprise-wide tech solutions.
- Strong experience in vendor management, systems architecture, and supporting cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, production).
- Experience with SCADA systems, Edge Computing, or industrial IoT is a bonus.
- Experience in AI tools and LLMs in retail and manufacturing verticals.
- Excellent communicator who builds trusted relationships across all levels of the organization.
- You will work primarily out of the Chester office location (Vancouver, BC)
- Expected Salary: $175,000 – $230,000
- A collaborative, growth-focused company culture
- The opportunity to build foundational IT systems and guide our next chapter of innovation
