Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a vital role in the care and treatment of our furry patients. Duties:
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures
- Monitor anesthetized patients
- Monitor and maintain patient records and charts
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalyses using vetscan (zoetis) machines, including AI fecal and urine scanner
- Administer medications as directed by a veterinarian
- Clean and prepare examination rooms, surgical suites, and equipment
- Provide care and handling of animals, including feeding, walking, and cleaning their enclosures
- Collaborate with the veterinary team to provide exceptional patient care and support
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
- Communicate with clients regarding patient care, treatment options, and medication instructions
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a veterinary technician program
- Passing mark on the VTNE
- Current certification as a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)
- Experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift, bend, and stand for extended periods
- Familiarity with laboratory procedures and instrumentation
