Uxbridge Equine is looking to add an Equine Veterinary Anesthesia Technician to join our non-corporate, Canadian (owned by the vet who works there) practice. In this role, you'll play a vital part in assisting veterinarians to provide top-notch care to our animal patients. Your expertise in anesthesia and animal handling will be key in maintaining the health and well-being of those in our care.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Able to manage anesthesia
- Monitor animal health and behavior, documenting any changes or concerns.
- Prepare animals for surgery and assist with post-operative care.
- Maintain accurate medical records for all patients.
Skills:
- Assist with and perform anesthesia for patients across multiple services in the hospital as needed
- Technical skills; physical examinations, patient assessment, venipuncture, catheter placement, peripheral nerve blocks, epidurals and arterial catheters
- Ability to keep detailed and accurate patient records
- Compassionate care for our patients
- Ability to mange multiple priorities simultaneously
- Ability to problem solve
