Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating CNC laser cutting machines and possess a strong understanding of fabrication processes. This role requires mechanical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to read blueprints effectively. The Laser Operator will be responsible for producing high-quality components while ensuring safety and efficiency in the production environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce parts according to specifications.
- Interpret blueprints and technical drawings to determine machining requirements.
- Conduct quality inspections using precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Perform routine maintenance on laser equipment and troubleshoot any issues that arise.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet production deadlines.
- Utilize hand tools and fabrication techniques for assembly and finishing processes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Assist in the operation of other machinery as needed, including CNC milling machines, press brake machines, and stamping presses.
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC laser cutting, CNC programming, or related machining processes.
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles.
- Knowledge of electrical discharge machining, plasma cutting, welding, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, tooling, and assembly techniques.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand complex machinery operations.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to manufacturing tasks.
- Experience with quality inspection processes to ensure product standards are met.
- Ability to operate forklifts and cranes safely is a plus.
