Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting grain products safely and efficiently to various destinations while adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and professionalism.
Duties
- Operate and drive heavy trucks to transport grain within Ontario.
- Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring proper handling of grain.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding route changes or delays.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding transportation.
- Perform basic maintenance and automotive repair on the vehicle as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid commercial driver's license (CDL).
- Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and logistics.
- Ability to perform basic automotive repairs to ensure vehicle reliability.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to adhere to tight schedules.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and ensuring cargo safety.
