TRUCK DRIVER
Role
As a Truck Driver at Borrow Enterprises you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and delivery of gravels, parts, equipment, containers or b-trains to and from job/project sites. You have to be able to operate a tandem axle truck, work safe and execute every delivery with precision and care.
Responsibilities
- Operate a tandem axle truck, truck and pub and b-train truck to transport and deliver gravels, parts, equipment, containers and other to designated job sites.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safe driving practices while operating the truck, ensuring the safety of yourself, fellow drivers, pedestrians and other road users.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and other equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
- Safely load and unload the loads onto the truck, utilizing the hydraulic lift system and securing them properly for transportation.
- Collaborate with dispatchers, supervisors, and other team members to plan and optimize routes and schedules for timely delivery and pick-up.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pick-ups, mileage, and fuel consumption using provided log books or electronic systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service, interacting professionally and courteously with clients and addressing any concerns or inquiries they may have.
- Report any accidents, incidents, or traffic violations to the appropriate authorities and inform management promptly.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety protocols, environmental regulations, and waste disposal guidelines.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 commercial driver's license
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating tandem axle trucks.
- Clean driving record with no major convictions or accidents in the past 3 years.
- Strong knowledge of British Columbia's traffic laws, regulations, and routes.
- Excellent driving skills, including the ability to maneuver and back up the truck in tight spaces and challenging environments.
- Ability to perform routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance tasks.
- Good physical condition, as the job may involve lifting and moving heavy roll-off containers.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions and safety protocols.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact professionally with clients and colleagues.
