The Trailer Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance, and repairs, on various types of trailers, including flatbeds, dry vans, and refrigerated units. While certification as a 310J Trailer Technician is not required, relevant experience and mechanical aptitude are essential.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on trailers, including brakes, suspension, lighting, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and recommend appropriate repairs.
- Replace or repair damaged components such as axles, wheels, and landing gear.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
- Assist certified technicians as needed and participate in ongoing training.
Wage Range : $24 -$28 an hour
Required Skills:
- 1–3 years of experience in trailer maintenance or a related mechanical field.
- Strong understanding of trailer systems and components
- Ability to use hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Willingness to pursue certification in the future
- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Familiarity with regulations and trailer inspection standards
