Traffic Control Agent
Job Summary:
The Agent sets and operates the traffic pattern to ensure safety on the work site.
Reports To: Field Supervisor/Operations Manager
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Completes all necessary time sheets, truck logs, and vehicle inspections daily.
- Set up and maintain traffic control sites using provincial approved traffic control standards.
- Interacts with employees and customers in a dignified and professional manner.
- Gives a 15-minute break to each employee on the job site every 2 hours as each site allows.
- Follows and enforces all company policies and procedures.
Required Skills / Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of company policies and provincial certified traffic control standards.
- Ability to recognize and warn others of dangerous situations.
- Ability to drive half-ton trucks as well as operate arrow boards, message boards, and light towers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent leadership qualities and the ability to problem solve.
- Ability to work long and flexible hours.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift objects up to 50lbs in weight.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to move and maneuver in a quick fashion to avoid dangerous situations.
Educational Requirements:
- Ability to pass the “New Brunswick Traffic Control Agent Training” course, and any other course as required by the company.
Any Agent who fails to follow the guidelines listed above can be subject to demotion to the position of “TCP” with the requisite pay reduction.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour

Experience:
- Traffic Control: 2 years (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
- Driving Licence (required)
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- TCP Certification (preferred)
- NB Traffic Control Agent certification (preferred)
Willingness to travel:
- 25% (preferred)
