The Position
Western Archrib is currently looking to fill the position of Timber Finisher at our Sturgeon County facility.
The successful candidate for this full-time position will have a high standard of work ethic, attention to detail, motivated to work at a high level of quality, and ability to work well within a team environment.

About the position
Working at Western Archrib, the ideal candidate for this role will have experience in wood working, measuring, cutting, shape, and operate various types of power tools.
Duties:
· Operate a variety of woodworking power tools
· Troubleshoot quality control defects in wood beams and repair as required
· Maintain quality control, safety standards and safe work practices
· Application of laminated wood sealer and other finishing chemicals
· Use of overhead cranes on single and multiple crane lifts
· Wrapping and unwrapping beams for shipments and rework as required
· All finishing duties are performed indoors
Preferred Requirements:
- Candidates must be physically fit and able to lift to a maximum of 50lbs consistently.
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to work 8 hour or 10 hr shifts. (Some overtime may be required).
- Standard CSA approved Steel toed boots are required, we will provide safety glasses, hearing protection, work gloves, and reflective vests.
- Hand/power tool safety
- Candidates with experience in the carpentry trade, preferably in the timber industry will be considered but not required. We will train onsite
- Attention to detail, good organizational and communication skills

· 312 Park Road, Sturgeon County, AB
Work Schedule:
· Dayshift: Mon-Fri 6 am-2 pm. Hours subject to change
· Afternoon: Mon-Thur 2 pm – 12 pm. Hours subject to change
· Flexibility to work on an afternoon schedule will be considered an asset to this role
· Overtime may be required dependant on production requirements
Compensation:
· Wage will range from $21 to $23hr depending on experience

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
