APPS Transport Group currently have an opening for a Full-Time Terminal Clerk. Reporting to the Terminal Manager this role requires an individual who can provide consistency and high accuracy when inputting data, and detail orientated.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Process inbound DROP EMPTY trips and ensure accuracy in the system
- Copy pro-bills and update each to reflect accurate store/location information
- Print offload manifests and delivery manifests as needed
- Assign drivers, power units, and trailers to designated trips
- Update trip statuses to reflect accurate location and progress
- Track shipments and provide status updates as required
- Confirm offloading is complete and accurate
- Enter dimensions for day-shift offload.
- Scan and file all offloads and PODs processed for the day
- Print and distribute PODs for straight truck drivers
- Identify and report any manifest discrepancies or damaged freight
- Depart dock interline manifests
- Rectify and update the Command Page on a daily basis
- Keep track of all customer pickups and ensure PODs are printed and filed
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum High School Diploma (or equivalent); post-secondary education in logistics or transportation is an asset
- 1–2 years of terminal, warehouse, or transportation industry experience preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Ability to handle time-sensitive information and work under pressure
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to take directions and learn quickly in a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team
- Solid problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
- Familiarity with cross-dock or LTL freight operations is a strong asset
TECHNICAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- TruckMate (Customer Service, Trip Tracer, Crystal Reports)
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Internet Explorer or other web-based tools
- Comfortable working in shared drives and internal logistics systems
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, and occasionally noisy terminal environment
SCHEDULE
- Monday to Friday - 07:00 AM - 03:30 PM
Total hours of work and work schedule may vary due to work volume, economy, etc.
