Are you a compassionate leader with a heart for vulnerable children, youth, adults, and their families? Capital Family Services is seeking a dedicated Team Lead to join our care team and help create safe, supportive, and enriching environments for those we serve.
As a Team Lead, you’ll play a vital role in delivering 24/7 managed care and specialized services, leading a team of front-line professionals to support clients in achieving their goals, building life skills, and navigating community resources. You’ll provide critical on-shift leadership, offer hands-on coaching, and support the operational needs of the home.
What You’ll Do:
Client Care & Operations
- Support the implementation of individualized Client Care Plans
- Assist with daily living activities: hygiene, cooking, money management, safety
- Facilitate recreation, education, social, and vocational programming
- Ensure timely documentation of shift notes, incident reports, and inspections
- Administer medications and attend appointments as required
- Promote and uphold health and safety standards across the home
- Use internal systems for accurate and timely reporting
Staff Leadership & Development
- Coach and mentor staff during shifts
- Foster a collaborative and positive workplace culture
- Support onboarding, performance evaluations, and development goals
- Facilitate shift handovers, team communication, and staff meetings
- Participate in the on-call rotation with other leads and managers
Crisis Management
- Lead emergency response efforts during critical incidents
- Deliver training and conduct readiness drills
- Guide post-crisis debriefs and continuous improvement initiatives
What You Bring:
- Empathetic leadership and commitment to inclusive, high-quality care
- 1+ year experience supporting clients with developmental, physical, or behavioral needs
- Clear understanding of trauma-informed practices and crisis intervention
- Strong organization, communication, and decision-making skills
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification
- Reliable transportation to and from worksites in and outside of city limits
- Clear Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector Check, and Social Development Record Check
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems
- Human Services diploma or degree (preferred)
- Fluent in written and spoken English and French.
