As the Team Lead Business Support, you will provide strategic direction and administrative management for the Bearspaw and Glenmore Water Treatment Plants as well as oversight for administrative support for Utility Delivery (ID) and Water Quality and Regulatory Assurance (WQRA) staff located at the water treatment plant locations. A critical part of the role will be to provide strategic leadership within a diverse work area to ensure that the objectives and outcomes of annual and 4 year workplans are accurately reflected and documented. Primary duties include:
- Ensure that resources of staff, materials and equipment are available to provide required support within Water Treatment, ID and WQRA.
- Provide operational and strategic planning to ensure timely delivery of resources, identifying efficiencies and implementing change management practices within the section.
- Coach, mentor, support and develop staff and create a line of sight that links their objectives with the priorities and outcomes in the Water business plan.
- Partner with various internal partners to ensure up to date document management related to the operation, maintenance and emergency response for 2 Water Treatment plants, over 40 pump stations and over 20 reservoirs to ensure that Water Treatment meets or exceeds the corporate security standard.
- Partner with Supply Management to create purchase orders and ensure that maintenance data entry is completed.
- Collaborate with safety advisors and Water Treatment Leadership to coordinate plant tours and provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, contractors and visitors.
Qualifications
- A completed 2 year diploma in business management or a related field.
- At least 8 years related progressively responsible experience that includes supervision, strategic planning and leadership within a multi-unionized environment.
- A related university degree with 4 years of related experience may be considered.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees.
