The Tank Farm Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operations 24/7 of the fuel facilities.
Basic Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
- The ability to work overtime if required, lead by example, meet attendance standards, and embrace the safety culture set forth by the PLH Management.
- Able to train and become fluent in the operation of HMI Computer systems that runs the facility.
- Fluent in basic computer skills, basic math calculations and develop the essentials to be a problem solver.
- Perform Quality Control Requirements set forth by CSA836.22 Standards for Jet Fuel Aerodromes.
- Receive fuel from transport trucks into the facilities tankage and perform quality testing prior to offloading.
- Become familiar with I6 inventory programs and Quality Control App data entry.
- Receive fuel from pipelines both Pembina and TF0 imports.
- Perform site walk arounds and document any safety/security observations.
- Inspect the facilities pipelines systems daily.
- Interact with outside personnel including inventory, trucking companies, and marine terminal operators.
- Be able to climb storage tanks for manual inventory gauging and custody transfer measurements.
- Ability to work alone, as well as with others, team player mindset most beneficial.
- Adhere to all PPE requirements set forth by the facility managers.
- All other tasks are required as per the job classification.
Requirements:
- Must hold valid Canadian Driver’s License and clean driver’s abstract.
- Obtain and maintain a valid Airport RAIC and AVOP designation.
- Must be able to pass the Tank Farm Operator math skills test and color blindness test.
- Be able to climb stairs and work at elevations as well as perform physical requirements.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and willingness to work flexible working hours.
- Be able to respond to and work in emergency conditions as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- This position is typically four days on, four days off with 12 hour shifts.
