Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Tagalog Speaking Personal Support Worker (PSW) to provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including home care, assisted living, and nursing homes. The ideal candidate will have experience working with diverse populations, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s, and dementia. This role requires a strong commitment to patient care and the ability to communicate effectively in Tagalog.
Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide personal care and support to clients in home health, hospice care, and long-term care settings.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes in health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive patient information.
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in caregiving, home & community care, or working with people with disabilities is preferred.
- Knowledge of first aid and CPR is essential; certification is a plus.
- Experience in group homes or nursing facilities is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with patient observation techniques and monitoring vital signs is required.
- Ability to assist with heavy lifting and mobility support for clients.
- Strong communication skills in both English and Tagalog are necessary for effective interaction with clients and their families.
- Understanding of Alzheimer’s care, memory care practices, dementia care strategies, and working with individuals on the autism spectrum is beneficial.
