About the Role
As the Systems Engineer – GFX Lead, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of the Enhanced Defence High Frequency Communication System (EDHFCS) and other critical Defence programs.
Embedded within a high-performing Integrated Product Team, you’ll be the key liaison for managing Government Furnished Equipment (GFX) requirements, ensuring alignment with program milestones.
Your focus will be on identifying, tracking, and reporting GFX needs—covering equipment, materials, data, facilities, and information—throughout the engineering lifecycle, from design and development to delivery and sustainment.
This is a role where your ability to lead, collaborate and problem-solve will have a direct impact on national capability.
About You
You are a systems thinker with a strong grounding in engineering fundamentals and a passion for Defence capability delivery.
With experience in managing GFX or similar logistics and coordination roles, you’re comfortable working across internal and external stakeholder groups—including Commonwealth representatives—to ensure on-time and accurate delivery of critical project inputs.
You’re proactive in your approach, identifying issues early, reporting with clarity, and helping to shape solutions that keep complex projects on track.
You value precision, take pride in producing quality engineering outputs, and bring a collaborative mindset that aligns with Babcock’s commitment to excellence, innovation, and mission success.
To be successful in this position you will bring:
- Relevant experience in relatable technical/engineering roles.
- An understanding of applicable engineering toolsets (e.g. PLM or MRP systems, design, simulation and analysis software).
- Exposure and experience in Systems Engineering Lifecycle.
- Proficient in using tools such as Jira, Confluence, and other project management and documentation software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team to achieve desired results.
