Host Agency Support Worker Wanted
CLV is seeking a kind, reliable, and engaging Community Inclusion Support Worker to support a gentle woman in her 40s who enjoys nature walks, singing, and reading. This contracted role focuses on creating meaningful recreational experiences in the Oak Bay area, with some flexibility for indoor activities as needed.
About the Individual
The woman enjoys simple, joyful activities and benefits from a calm and consistent presence. She experiences seizures, and a clear seizure protocol will be in place and must be followed.
Support Schedule
- Days: Monday, Wednesday, Friday
- Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- One or more workers may be considered to fill this schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and support during walks in local parks and nature areas
- Engage the individual in activities she enjoys, such as singing, reading, and gentle conversation
- Be prepared to support both outdoor and indoor activities depending on weather and individual needs
- Follow health and safety protocols, including seizure response procedures
- Maintain a person-centered approach that respects the individual’s pace, preferences, and communication style
Ideal Candidate
- Calm, patient, and emotionally attuned
- Able to focus fully on the individual while navigating family involvement respectfully
- Comfortable working independently and outdoors in various types of weather
- Experience supporting individuals with disabilities
- Familiarity with seizure protocols is an asset
- Must be reliable and consistent in availability
Job description:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- have previous experience supporting people with intellectual disabilities and autism
- have a current first aid certification or be willing to re-certify
- willing to consent to a Criminal Record Check through the Ministry of Justice
- have a Class 5 Driver’s license and vehicle- be creative, flexible, friendly, and able to establish trust
- be health conscious and in good health

This position is an independent contract and as such, contractors are not employees of Community Living Victoria.
These contracts are renewed on an annual basis contingent upon both parties wanting to continue the contract, and if credentials are up to date.
