Located in Alliston, Ontario on 750 acres and employing more than 4,500 Associates, HCM is a 45-minute drive north of Toronto and 25 minutes south of Barrie. HCM began production in 1986 leading the way as the first Japanese automobile manufacturer to establish a production facility in Canada. Today, HCM is one of Honda's premier manufacturing facilities in the world producing the Honda Civic and CRV vehicles, including hybrid production. HCM is excited for its new chapter and journey towards electrification, including the highly anticipated EV and battery production plants that are expected in the coming years!
As a Supply Chain Stability group member, the successful candidate will be on the front line to ensure supply chain stability while representing both HCM and other Honda sites. The successful candidate will be a part of a collaborative team of HCM and North American professionals who strategize on delivery improvement themes and evaluate supplier health, production capability as well as review and validate Supply Chain activities.
Salary Range: $82,000.00-$96,000.00 annually
Responsibilities:
- Create strategies to improve delivery of parts through the supply chain.
- Investigate struggle points within the supply chain and develop solutions to resolve conflicts and inefficiencies.
- Communicate and collaborate with North American Sites on supply chain activities and concerns.
- Completion of value chain mapping, delivery audit visits and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives
- Development of a supply chain risk assessments with consideration of future risks and opportunities including proactive mitigation strategies
- Create and present reports on Supply Chain’s Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale, Safety
- Onsite supplier support of North American delivery concerns.
- Complete root cause analysis and evaluate countermeasure effectiveness.
- Manage and continuously build supply chain relationships through strong and regular communication.
- Design Change application and cost management
Requirements:
- University degree or College diploma in Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business, Mathematics, or Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of equivalent experience in Supply Chain
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel; Use advanced functions (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables), manage and format data
- Willing to work overtime / weekends as required on short notice
- Willing to work 2nd shift as required
- Willing and able to travel domestically and internationally on short notice, valid B1 visa for business travel or Canadian passport required at time of application
- Willing to complete and support yard sweeps as required
- Willing and able to learn and support Delivery Management (Buyer) tasks
Preferred Experience:
- Experience communicating with suppliers and stakeholders regarding complex supply chain concerns
- Experience with onsite supplier support of North American site delivery or quality concerns
- Hands on experience working in manufacturing and/or supply chain environment (assembly, quality assurance, maintenance, production, or logistics planning)
- Assessing supplier part manufacturing processes and analyzing, summarizing, and reporting process capacity
- Collecting data and using it to recommend changes to improve delivery, quality or reduce costs
- Experience negotiating transportation cost responsibility and timing
- Experience with analyzing and evaluating countermeasures, shipping plans and production simulations
- Experience using manufacturing planning and material control systems (e.g., ERP/MRP systems)
- Experience with moderate or highly complex projects
- Continuous improvement mindset – persistence, creativity, and passion
- Experience working independently and within a team
- Experience at leading, summarizing, evaluating and reporting on supply chain health audits
Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) provides a competitive salary structure and starting wage based on previous, related experience.
