Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL) is hiring a Supervisor, Route Planning on a permanent basis on our Transportation Operations team.
This position is an on-site opportunity and is based in Edmonton, Alberta.
We are looking for a strong front-line operational leader to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for the effective coordination of freight movement from the regional Distribution Centre Operations, as well as petroleum facilities to local Co-op and independent locations. What you’ll do:
- Lead and guide the Transportation Operations route planning team to ensure a balance of cost control, operational efficiency and stakeholder support is maintained while providing superior service to the Co-op Retailing System.
- Analyze volumes to identify inefficient route combinations, action change with appropriate stakeholders to increase efficiencies and minimize total trip counts.
- Work closely with local Co-ops as well as internal stakeholders to provide data driven solutions and recommendations to lower freight costs and operating expenses.
- Support the Manager to develop the budget.
- Work alongside regional counterparts and Senior Supervisor Trucking Operations, build operational plan to meet Petroleum and Merchandise heavy demand periods.
- Approximate annual travel 10%.

You will work closely with regional Route Planning Supervisors, the Operations Management team and Fleet Services team, will have 5 direct reports, and will report into the Manager, Transportation Service. This team strives to cultivate a culture of collaboration, innovation and safety.

Who you are:
You are looking for a career in Supply Chain and:
- Have 6-9 years of relevant progressively responsible experience.
- Have a Diploma in Business or Logistics (a combination of relevant education and experience may be considered).
- Experience in previous supervisory position and working with automated systems will be considered as asset.
- CITT designation is an asset.
