You Are:
A talented application PolicyCenter Technical Lead with deep knowledge of Guidewire PolicyCenter application solutions. You’re skilled in all aspects of Guidewire implementation, from design and configuration to customization and support after the solution goes live. You enjoy working with people with all different skill sets, and you have a flair for negotiating and gaining consensus in a fast-paced environment. You have plenty—you’re a master at juggling multiple tasks and meeting deadlines. Planning and strategizing come easily to you, and you have a take-charge approach to seeing tasks through to completion.
The Work:
- Partner with Guidewire on-site consultants and client business teams to understand business objectives and integration requirements.
- Work closely with stakeholders to design and document automation solutions that align with the business needs and are consistent with the architectural vision;
- Configure Guidewire applications and develop Guidewire business rules using Guidewire Studio.
- Develop custom integration programs to connect Guidewire applications with other internal and external systems using JAVA and XML.
- Execute configuration/integration tests, including monitoring software incidents and communicating software issues to Guidewire development.
- Provide technical expertise by enforcing the vision of the application architecture and safeguarding the integrity of the application environment in alliance with architects and other tech leads;
- Function as a subject matter expert and advocate for the software applications supported;
- Review and provide input into Architectural designs, requirements and test cases.
- The role requires to be in local office 2 - 3 days per week. Preferred locations Mississauga, Canada and Toronto, Canada.
Here’s What You Need:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a Tech Lead role
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in Guidewire Policy Center Configuration
- Minimum of 7 years of proven development experience in Object Oriented Programming (such as Java) and SQL
- Experience supporting Property & Casualty Insurance to understand and analyze the business needs of the customer
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (minimum 12 years' work experience). If Associate’s Degree, must have equivalent minimum 6-year work experience
- Guidewire Cloud experience
- Guidewire Associate Certification
Bonus Points if:
- Guidewire Ace certification
- Expertise in designing the overall solutions on GW PC platform
- Expertise in writing GUnit test cases and integrate them to build/pipeline
- Background in consulting or equivalent in a customer-facing role in professional services.
- Ability to handle technical leadership tasks (Solution Design, estimating, delivery of technical training/education)
- Ability to demonstrate advanced technical skills such as OO design, development and test with proven patterns knowledge, excellent documentation composition and the ability to communicate your thought process clearly
- JAVA, J2EE, JMS, JDBC OR C# experience
- Ability to become certified in multiple Guidewire Insurance Suite products and develop a thorough understanding of product platform, including all integration technologies.
- Demonstrable experience developing web-based Java/J2EE applications
- Demonstrable experience using Spring Batch Framework to support PolicyCenter-related integrations with external and internal partners
- Demonstrable proficiency in designing, implementing and supporting packaged vendor products
- Prior experience with Apache and JBOSS Application servers;
- Experience with either XML, GUnit, Jenkins, GIT/Subversion/TFS, Code Coverage and Code Scan Plugin/Tools
- Prior experience with Application Servers like WebSphere, Weblogic, JBoss and/or Tomcat
- Prior experience with Database Servers like SQL Server, Oracle, and/or DB2
- Ability to engage different stakeholders (Configuration, Integration, Middleware and Legacy teams) to resolve issues
