Reporting to the Director, Communications, the primary responsibility of this position is to recruit prospective students to FNUniv and the University Regina, especially students of Indigenous ancestry. This position works with campus partners, high schools, First Nations communities, post-secondary coordinators and other members of the Student Recruitment team to encourage prospective students and their families to apply to FNUniv.
This position will act as the primary contact and resource for prospective Indigenous students and others involved in the recruitment of Indigenous students. This position will participate in student recruitment activities on and off campus to increase Indigenous student applications to the to the FNUniv.
Duties:
Student Recruitment (on and off campus)
- This position will travel to events in and out of province to promote the FNUniv and recruit students to FNUniv through a broad range of activities including in-school presentations, attending education and career fairs, Saskatchewan University and Technical Institute Liaison (SUTIL) events, school/community events, advising session with students and parents, counsellor workshops and other prospective student events.
- Participate in on-campus recruitment activities.
- Prepare and maintain extensive recruitment records of external and prospective student contacts. This includes updating departmental contact databases.
- Conduct research on recruitment trends and best practices.
- Provides reports on various recruitment initiatives.
- Communicate extensively and develop relationships with prospective students, families, post-secondary coordinators, schools and counsellors utilizing email, phone, online chats, and mail.
- Drafts correspondence (electronic and paper) for prospective students
- Assists in the development of recruitment materials for FNUniv and the University of Regina. This would include print publications, online communications, presentations, information packages, etc.
- Communicates often with prospective students (via email and calling campaigns) and enters prospect data into the Student Relationship Management System
- Conduct on campus advising appointments with students.
- Assist in the development of relationships with key stakeholders within and outside the University.
- This position will assist with community members providing services to Aboriginal students with on campus events such as campus tours, conferences and school group tours.
- This individual will work with the ta-tawaw Students Centre, Indigenous Career Centre and the First Nations University of Canada to recruit Indigenous students on to campus.
- The successful candidate will have an undergraduate degree with a minimum of one (1) year related experience and/or related combination of education and experience. The successful candidate must be prepared to travel extensively throughout the year, as well as work evenings and weekends as required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of First Nations culture, values, and traditions is preferable.
APT Salary – Pay Grade 4 ($62,490 - $84,064)
