Position Summary:The Dental Sterilization Technician is responsible for ensuring all dental instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized according to industry standards and infection control protocols. This role is essential in maintaining a safe and sterile environment for patients and dental staff. The technician will work closely with the dental team to ensure that instruments are prepared and ready for use in a timely manner, contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the dental practice.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure all dental instruments are cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized properly.
- Maintain and manage the sterilization process of dental instruments and equipment.
- Assist the dental team in instrument and equipment setup.
- Ensure the sterilization area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and sterilization equipment.
- Adhere to all safety and infection control regulations.
- Maintain and update sterilization logs.
- Dispose of contaminated or sharp waste according to regulatory guidelines.
- Assist dental staff in patient care if needed.
- Maintain and update sterilization procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in dental assisting or dental sterilization preferred.
- Previous experience in a dental office or similar setting is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures.
