Job Overview
The Club Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Club, including registration, facility booking, maintenance and communication with Club Members. The Manager works closely with the Head Coach and oversees the delivery of the Club summer camp. The Manager is responsible for overall member services, and administrative functions of the Cascades Club. This includes overseeing summer camps, events, and club communications while ensuring smooth operations and excellent member experiences. The role requires strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a volunteer Board of Directors and with the Head Coach.
Duties
- Serve as the first point of contact for member inquiries (phone, email, in person).
- Distribute important notices and program updates.
Administration & Operations
- Maintain accurate records for memberships, program registrations, financial transactions, and waivers.
- Prepare invoices, receipts, and basic bookkeeping entries in collaboration with the bookkeeper and treasurer.
- Monitor and order office/program supplies.
- Coordinate facility bookings and scheduling, ensuring fair access for members and programs.
- Coordinate facility cleaning, maintenance and upkeep.
- Coordinate logistics, including facility booking, equipment needs, food services, and volunteer support.
Program Coordination
- Plan and coordinate the summer camp.
- In coordination with the Head Coach, coordinate seasonal paddling programs (spring, summer, fall), including sprint canoe/kayak, PaddleAll, youth camps, and adult sessions.
- Develop and maintain program schedules, staffing rosters, and instructor assignments.
- Oversee registration processes, waitlists, and participant communications.
Staff & Volunteer Management
- Recruit, hire, and onboard seasonal staff, including camp counsellors, instructors, and support staff.
- Draft employment agreements in alignment with club standards.
- Supervise and support staff throughout the season.
- Coordinate volunteer involvement for events and initiatives.
- Ensure all staff maintain valid certifications (e.g., First Aid/CPR).
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety and water safety standards.
- Oversee equipment inspections and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain membership database and process renewals.
- Manage website content, newsletters, and social media updates.
Qualifications
- Experience in program coordination, recreation management, or non-profit administration.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and French (oral and written).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and registration/booking software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends during peak seasons.
- Familiarity with paddling sports or water-based recreation is an asset.
- Ability to pass a criminal record check, vulnerable sector.

Pay: From $26,000.00 per year
