We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Drafter to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing precise technical drawings and schematics to support engineering and fabrication projects. This role requires proficiency in SolidWorks and a strong understanding of steel fabrication processes. The Drafter will work closely with engineers, project managers, and production staff to ensure designs meet both technical and scheduling requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and prepare accurate 2D and 3D drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and layout designs using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to interpret project requirements and translate them into clear and manufacturable designs.
- Review, revise, and update drawings based on feedback and design changes.
- Ensure all drafting work complies with industry standards, regulations, and company specifications.
- Maintain well-organized documentation and records of all drawings, versions, and design changes.
- Assist in the development of project documentation, including technical specifications, reports, and manuals.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and drafting practices.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Proficiency in SolidWorks is essential.
- Experience with additional CAD platforms such as AutoCAD, Revit, NavisWorks, SketchUp, MicroStation, or Civil 3D is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience in drafting, ideally within a steel fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
