Overview:
Markham Athletics is looking for a creative and motivated Social Media Content Creator / Videographer to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a 3rd or 4th year university student pursuing a degree in Media, Communications, Film, Marketing, or a related field. If you’re passionate about sports, storytelling, and social media — and want real-world experience in a high-performance environment — we want to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Capture and edit high-quality video and photo content during training sessions, events, and behind-the-scenes moments
- Create engaging content for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and other platforms
- Collaborate with coaches and staff to plan and execute content ideas that align with our brand
- Assist in managing our content calendar and maintaining a consistent posting schedule
- Stay current with social media trends and apply them creatively to our platforms
- Organize and maintain content libraries for future use
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Media, Film, Communications, Marketing, or a related field (3rd or 4th year preferred)
- Proficient in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut)
- Experience with social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube) and content best practices
- Strong visual storytelling and editing skills
- Able to work independently and take initiative
- Bonus: Interest in sports, fitness, or athletics
