Scope of Work
- Snow Clearing: Remove snow from designated areas (parking lots, sidewalks, driveways, entrances, loading docks, fire lanes).
- Ice Control: Apply salt, sand, or ice-melt products as directed.
- Snow Hauling: When required, relocate or remove snow piles from site.
- Emergency Response: Be available for unexpected snowfalls, freezing rain, or drifting snow events.
- Safety Compliance: Keep all areas clear to maintain safe pedestrian and vehicle access.
Requirements
- Must have own truck(s), plows, skid steers, loaders, or snow blowers (depending on job size).
- Provide own shovels, salt spreaders, and other necessary tools.
- Must carry valid liability insurance and WCB (workers compensation) coverage.
- Reliable communication (cell phone or dispatch radio).
- Ability to respond within agreed timeframe (e.g., within 2 hours of snowfall).
Schedule
- On-call basis during the snow season (typically November–March/April, depending on region).
- Shifts may occur overnight, early morning, or weekends depending on snowfall.
- Must monitor weather forecasts and be ready for deployment.
Responsibilities
- Perform snow removal safely without damaging curbs, landscaping, or property.
- Keep detailed service logs (time in/out, weather conditions, material used).
- Report hazardous conditions to the main contractor immediately.
- Follow all site-specific rules (e.g., hospital, commercial plaza, residential community).
Qualifications
- Experience in snow removal operations preferred.
- Knowledge of safe equipment handling in winter conditions.
- Ability to work long/irregular hours in extreme weather.
- Good communication and reliability.
Job Type: Freelance
Pay: $25.00-$80.00 per hour
