Site Superintendent / Project Manager

Sparkes Developments Inc. is a fast-growing real estate development and construction company based in Western Newfoundland. We specialize in multi-family residential developments, apartment conversions, and commercial projects. With multiple projects underway, we are seeking a motivated Site Superintendent / Project Manager to lead construction activities on-site and keep projects moving on schedule and on budget.
Role Overview
This role combines hands-on site supervision with project management. You’ll be the key person on the job site, leading the crew, coordinating with subcontractors, dealing with suppliers, and ensuring quality and safety standards are met. You’ll also assist with permits, inspections, and keeping ownership informed of progress.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily construction activities on multi-family development sites
- Lead and supervise on-site crew members
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades, and deliveries
- Work with suppliers to source and manage building materials
- Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
- Manage permits, inspections, and compliance with building codes
- Provide regular progress updates to management
- Maintain site safety standards and enforce company policies
- Problem-solve issues that arise on site
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Site Superintendent, Foreman, or Project Manager in residential, multi-family or commercial construction
- Strong knowledge of building processes, codes, and best practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and making decisions on the spot
- Valid driver’s license
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $65,000 – $80,000+ per year (commensurate with experience)
