Fair Haven Homes Society is a non-profit organization that was founded 75 years ago to provide low-cost housing for seniors. Today, Fair Haven provides long term care and affordable housing to more than 500 seniors in Burnaby and Vancouver. Fair Haven is recognized as a leader in long term care and services for seniors.
We are recruiting for casual Bus/Shuttle Drivers who take joy in working with seniors.
This position operates passenger transportation vehicles such as vans and/or buses with seating capacities of between 11 and 25 passengers, including the driver while carrying one or more passengers. Promote safety on the bus, complete safety checks and maintain logbooks as needed.
Minimum qualifications include:
- Grade 10 plus two years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Class IV BC Driver’s License Unrestricted
- Valid First Aide/CPR certificate
Good to have:
- Previous experience in working/volunteering with seniors
- Patience and enjoying socializing with seniors.
Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
- Ability to deal with others effectively, receive and follow instruction
- Ability to organize work
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Technical ability to operate related equipment
