Now Hiring: Shop Supervisor

Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Shop Supervisor to lead the daily operations of our newly consolidated service branch and western rental yard. This role is responsible for overseeing the repair and maintenance of rental and customer equipment, managing shop staff, and ensuring efficient workflow through Odoo 17. The Shop Supervisor will coordinate with internal departments and service managers to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Supervise and coordinate all shop activities including diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of rental and customer equipment.
- Prioritize and assign work orders to technicians based on urgency, skillset, and availability.
- Ensure timely turnaround of equipment and adherence to service standards.
-Manage Yard & Shop space for both SM & TTPG customer needs.
ERP & System Management
- Create, manage, and close work orders in Odoo 17.
- Ensure accurate and timely entry of technician timesheets.
- Invoice completed shop work to the appropriate departments and Analytic Accounts.
- Monitor and manage shop workflow and reporting through Odoo dashboards.
Team Supervision
- Lead, mentor, and support shop technicians and apprentices.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions.
- Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Cross-Department Coordination
- Act as the primary liaison between the shop and internal departments including Rentals, Sales, and Service.
- Coordinate with Service Manager when additional labor or support is required in the shop.
- Coordinate with Parts, S&R/Yard Person for parts needed, and equipment movement.
-Manage shop vendors for VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) for appropriate levels of stock.
-Manage Shop Environmental Waste Disposal Vendors
-Manage Specialty Tool Room/Crib
- Maintain strong relationships with T&T Service customers, Simson Maxwell clients, and internal stakeholders.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with company standards, safety regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
- Maintain accurate service records, inspection reports, and documentation.
- Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for parts and supplies.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in a heavy equipment or industrial service environment.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a shop setting preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of diesel engines, generators, and related systems.
- Proficiency with Odoo 17 or similar ERP/service management systems.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver’s license; additional certifications (e.g., Red Seal, OEM training) are an asset.
Working Conditions
- Full-time.
- Occasional travel to customer sites or other branches may be required.
- Fast-paced environment with exposure to noise, tools, and heavy equipment.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.00-$45.00 per hour
