JOB DESCRIPTION
The Shipper is responsible for organizing and providing efficient transportation and storage solutions for outgoing products. This individual will handle all aspects of shipping and delivery to ensure customer satisfaction by staying in contact and relaying all communications concerning the delivery.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
- Load shipments regularly, and using any necessary equipment such as forklift to complete tasks safely.
- Coordinate transportation with multiple types of freight (inbound and outbound) to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipments.
- Ensure the correct handling and packaging of materials.
- Build shipping boxes / packaging and tidy up Shipping Receiving area by emptying garbages and collecting recyclables.
- Ensure product is properly inspected prior to leaving vendor facility for shipment.
- Monitor shipments and investigate lost shipments or late deliveries.
- Address and resolve any shipment or inventory issues and costs including any issues with customs on international shipments.
- Responding to customer inquiries and referring clients to the proper channels.
- Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy. Match products with purchase order.
- Making special shipping arrangements as necessary.
- Preparing bills and invoices.
- Ensure the quality of all services provided meet the company standards, legislation and safety procedures.
- Develop processes that make the supply chain more efficient and organized.
- Ensure the safe and timely pick-up and delivery of shipments.
- Maintain appropriate and complete documentation regarding products or materials.
- Enter shipments into company software.
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklift and pallet jack in a safe and efficient manner
- Conduct periodic inventory spot checks and audits.
