Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating sheet metal equipment, fabricating components, and ensuring all products meet company quality standards. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain sheet metal fabrication machines (press brake, shear, notcher, etc.).
- Cut, bend, notcher, and form sheet metal to precise specifications.
- Read and interpret shop drawings, and work orders.
- Inspect finished products for accuracy, quality, and safety compliance.
- Follow workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; trades training or apprenticeship in sheet metal work is an asset.
- 1–3 years of sheet metal or metal fabrication experience is an asset.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use precision measuring tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of workplace safety practices (WHMIS, PPE requirements).
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.
- Forklift or overhead crane experience is an asset.
Hours of work:
- Monday to Thursday 6 am - 3:30 pm
- Friday 6 am to 2:30 pm
Work Conditions
- Shop/plant environment with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
- Use of PPE including safety glasses, steel-toed boots, gloves, and hearing protection.
- Option to work overtime.
