Position: Sheet Metal Fabricator

Position Overview:
We are currently looking for a Sheet Metal Fabricator who will be responsible for fabricating and installing sheet metal for custom machinery for the plastic industry. There will also be a requirement to fabricate steel framing for industrial machinery.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Must be a team player who is dependable and reliable
- the ability to follow and read blueprints
- measure, cut, or shape metal and other materials, using power tools and large shop equipment
- knowledge of proper use of tools and methods of all aspects of metal working
- Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal
- Measure and mark sheet metal according to template
- Grind and buff seams, joints and rough surfaces
- Cut materials using power tools or by hand
- Fit and weld sheet metal parts
- Install sheet metal products according to specifications and fabrication drawings
- Fabricate steel framing for industrial machine framing
- Inspect products to ensure quality and conformity to specification
- Drill and punch holes in metal, for screws, bolts, and rivets
- Maneuver units into position for installation, and anchor the units
Qualifications
- minimum 2 years of experience as a sheet metal fabricator
- ability to work independently in a busy environment
- experience with routine maintenance operations
- highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
