The School of Social Work and Human Service (Faculty of Education and Social Work) at Thompson Rivers University invites applications for a sessional lecturer to teach the following course at the Williams Lake Campus.
CYCA 2400 - Conception to late Childhood
- Master’s degree in Child & Youth required, or a Child and Youth Care degree combined with another relevant Doctorate or Masters will be considered. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree in Child & Youth care and extensive practice and educational experience working in a trauma informed context may be considered.
- Subject matter expertise and practice experience is required.
- Successful teaching experience in post-secondary institutions is desirable
- A minimum of five years of related practice experience, and educational specialization for content specific courses
- Availability for scheduled course times required. Monday 4:00-6:50
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods (TRC CA 62)
- Proven skills in building student capacity for intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect (TRC CA 63)
- Teaching excellence, including developing culturally appropriate curricula (TRC CA 10)
