Description:
Our enterprise client is seeking a highly skilled Server Specialist for a 3+ month contract employment opportunity. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting servers and related infrastructure in both cloud and on-premise environments. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.
Responsibilities:
- Support and maintain servers and related infrastructure in cloud and on-premise environments.
- Implement and manage cybersecurity frameworks, threat detection, and mitigation strategies.
- Design and implement disaster recovery solutions with cloud infrastructure.
- Migrate on-prem infrastructure to a cloud hybrid DR environment.
- Automate routine tasks using various scripting languages.
- Administer Microsoft Windows Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022 / 2025).
- Administer various Red Hat and Ubuntu-based Linux distributions.
- Manage storage and network technologies.
- Administer Office 365 applications like Teams and Exchange Online.
- Monitor infrastructure using various applications.
- Utilize automation tools like Azure Automation or Ansible.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in information systems. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency.
- 5-7+ years of experience supporting servers and related infrastructure.
- MCSA/MCSE certification is an asset.
- Red Hat and/or other Linux certifications are an asset.
- Experience with MS Azure infrastructure services.
- Experience with VMware and Hyper-V for both server and desktop virtualization.
- Knowledge of data centers and associated server support.
