How will you make an impact in this role?

As part of the roadmap for success at Amex Canada, Winning in the Premium Space and Making Membership Matter is imperative for the business. The Premium portfolio is poised for years of transformative and accelerated growth, ultimately reestablishing a new standard for what Premium means in the Canadian marketplace.

The Senior Manager, Consumer Premium Products will manage our most Premium Cards, Platinum & Centurion, playing a key role in the development and implementation of strategies and tactics that continue to position us to dominate in the Premium card space. This role will require the successful candidate to implement and adapt the roadmap for the Premium portfolio, navigate and manage cross line of business relationships, and drive the flawless implementation of key initiatives that further the objectives for the portfolio.

The successful candidate will also be responsible for people leadership, creating and fostering an environment of inclusion, diversity, commitment and creatively. This position is a rich and diverse role for anyone who wants to be a part of a key strategic imperative for the Canadian Blue Box.

Principle accountabilities include: 

  • Evaluation and development of value proposition enhancements (benefit development).
  • Ensure strong partnership with GSG and TLS organizations to deliver best in class customer experience to drive competitive advantage. 
  • Developing the strategy and execution of the Premium Product team’s mandate that is grounded in customers’ insights, analytics and economics management.
  • Evaluate product line strategy and work jointly with New Product Development team to launch new product initiatives 
  • Constantly monitoring competitive landscape and customer feedback to identify opportunities.
  • Leverage International learning and best practices (e.g value proposition, partner management, and benefit exploration), partnering with the Premium Products COE to drive increased performance.
  • Responsible for coordinating with internal partners to ensure strong business partnerships across the lines of business.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and lead cross-functional teams which may include Information Management, Risk, Technologies, Legal, Compliance, and Finance.
  • Manage the performance for a team of Direct reports via coaching, feedback and strong leadership. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience and demonstrated ability in the following areas: Track record of successful P/L management.
  • Superior relationship management, influencing and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to take an initiative and champion a project from strategic concept through to implementation and evaluation.
  • Excellent people leadership experience; ability to motivate, inspire and coach the team.
  • Superior analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Aptitude in selecting, reviewing & analyzing diverse data sets related to business performance (e.g. financial performance, business process optimization). 
  • Interpretation of a variety of data sets in order to develop compelling business cases. 
  • Management of multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to effectively manage relationships and influence without direct authority.
  • Identification and tracking of key project milestones (base-lining critical path).
  • Proactively anticipating project risks and issues and ensuring adequate mitigation is put in place to ensure delivery is not compromised.
  • This role may be subject to additional background verification checks.
