About the Role
As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of building construction projects. You’ll collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and senior leadership to ensure estimates align with project goals and timelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans, specifications, and related documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Source and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
- Lead the estimating process from initial concept through to final submission.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
- Support project handover and ensure a smooth transition to the construction team.
- Mentor junior estimators and contribute to continuous improvement of estimating practices.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in ICI (Industrial, Commercial, Institutional) or residential mid-rise/high-rise sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and Ontario Building Code.
- Proficiency with estimating software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work full-time in-office in Hamilton.
