The cook is responsible for duties relating to the purchasing, preparation and serving of snacks and meals for a daycare.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Duties will include but are not limited to the following
- Preparing snacks and lunch for toddlers, preschoolers and kindergarden aged children, up to 130 children.
- Ability to cook meals and bake from scratch.
- Must be able to make lunch accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies.
- Has a large knowledge of kitchen preparation and ministry of health inspections
- Ensuring the kitchen is kept clean and sanitary at all times, washing snack and lunch dishes, cups, cutlery, containers etc.
- Setting up bins for snacks and lunch
- Maintaining proper temperatures of food and keeping a log
- Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
- Works with a positive attitude and as a team player
- Have the physical stamina and ability to kneel, bend, lift and stand for extended periods.
- Substitute as needed in a classroom as a helper
- Assist in other tasks as needed
- CRP and First Aid required
- Food Handler Certificate required
- Hours are from 8am to 4pm
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
