The Sales Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts in the Calgary and Edmonton area, focusing on building and nurturing long-term relationships to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty. This role is responsible for managing and expanding the sales pipeline across national accounts, identifying growth opportunities, and maximizing revenue potential. The Sales Account Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that client needs are met, ensuring seamless experience and fostering lasting partnerships that contribute to the company’s overall growth and success.
Duties
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients/accounts at the national level.
- Understand client business needs, goals, and challenges to provide tailored solutions.
- Create and execute strategic account plans aligned with organizational objectives.
- Identify growth opportunities and set sales targets for key accounts.
- Pursue new business opportunities within existing national accounts.
- Expand scope of products provided to clients and negotiate contract renewals.
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders within client organizations.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure effective execution of account strategies.
- Lead contract negotiations, including pricing, terms, and conditions.
- Monitor sales performance, track key account metrics, and provide regular reports.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Serve as primary point of contact for key accounts, handling issues and escalations.
- Advocate for customer needs within the organization and ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Provide expertise, guidance, and support to field teams or customer-facing personnel.
- Assist in troubleshooting problems and propose potential solutions.
- Conduct training sessions to enhance the skills and knowledge of field personnel.
- Analyze field operations and provide recommendations for process improvement.
- Establish positive relationships with field teams and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate resource allocation and ensure necessary resources are available.
- Document interactions, findings, and recommendations for future reference.
- Relay valuable insights and feedback from the field to relevant teams.
- Continuously adapt support strategies based on evolving needs and challenges.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience
- Proven track record in B2D sales, with a strong focus on developing and maintaining client relationships.
- Experience selling to (or through) distribution — highly transferable and valuable in this role.
- Demonstrated ability to exceed sales targets and drive revenue growth.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales pipeline management.
- Proven experience in sales and account management is essential.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and market trends.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities in managing client relationships and guiding team efforts.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of closing deals successfully.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with clients at all levels.
- Experience in business development is a plus, particularly in identifying new markets and opportunities.
