Overview:
We are seeking a Bakery Clerk to join our team in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of our bakery department. As a Bakery Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting customers, preparing baked goods, maintaining cleanliness, and upholding food safety standards.
Duties:
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide product recommendations and up sell bakery items
- Prepare and package baked goods such as bread, pastries, and cakes
- Assist with food preparation and baking as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized bakery area, including display cases and workstations
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation procedures to ensure food safety
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system for transactions
- Receive and stock bakery inventory as needed
- Assist with inventory management, including monitoring stock levels and rotating products
- Packaging of bakery products
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in the food industry, preferably in a bakery or restaurant setting
- Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
- Basic math skills
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
