Location: South Woodslee , ON
Position: Activation and Restorative Care Aide - Full Time (8am-4pm- every other weekend included)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proof of successful completion of a degree or diploma in Therapeutic Recreation or Leisure Studies, Gerontology, Activation, Kinesiology, or other related field from College / University.
- Successful completion of Restorative Care Education Training (RCET Certificate).
- Knowledge and demonstrated experience in one-one/group program planning, implementation and evaluation for both well and the cognitively impaired.
- Ability to work independently and ability to manage time effectively.
- Eligible for membership with TRO, APO, CTRA or other recognized recreation association.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to read and write in English well enough to understand complex verbal and written instructions and complete written documentation.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate diversified programs and services to meet the physical, intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual needs of all residents.
- Identify and assess the residents’ needs to develop fulfilling activities and encourage participation in group / 1-1 programming.
- Set up / clean up activity area as necessary and assist with transporting residents to and from programs.
- Implement restorative programs with residents as discussed by the Restorative Care Cross-Functional Team.
- Report significant changes of resident behaviour or condition to Supervisor and appropriate nursing staff and record incidents in resident’s chart.
- Attend Interdisciplinary Care Conferences as required.
- Maintain program and resident records utilizing Welbi / PCC / POC and complete RAI/MDS assessments.
