Overall Accountability
The Culinary Arts Assistant supports students and teachers in the Culinary Arts Program.
Specific Accountabilities
Assists Commercial Cook/Food Service Coordinator and Culinary Arts teacher(s) in the supervision of students
Records data concerning food sales, student information, etc.
Assists with production of food items for the school cafeteria and catering events
Provides guidance to students on basic recipes and skills
Handles daily cafeteria financial tasks (receives proper daily floats from Business Manager, maintains records and balances daily cash outs)
Operates cash register during cafeteria service periods
Handles the distribution, inventory and assignment of student uniforms
Qualifications
Minimum High School Diploma
Completion of one (1) year of Cook Apprenticeship training or equivalent commercial food service experience
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
Good interpersonal skills
