Job Summary
Reporting to the Store Manager, the Pump/Floor Attendant is responsible for providing excellent customer service, dispensing fuel, maintaining the cleanliness and security of the site, and ensuring the smooth operation of the gas station and convenience store. This position requires the ability to work independently, including shifts where the employee may be working alone. Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. The Pump/Floor Attendant performs a variety of duties to support the overall operation and success of the convenience store and gas station.
Key Responsibilities
- Dispense fuel in accordance with established company procedures for full-service fueling.
- Be aware of potential fire hazards and safety risks associated with working around fuel pumps.
- Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers in a friendly manner, assisting with inquiries, and resolving issues promptly and professionally.
- Operate the cash register, process transactions accurately, and handle various forms of payment.
- Maintain a balanced cash float throughout each shift; follow all cash-handling and reconciliation procedures.
- Act as a key holder, ensuring proper store opening and closing procedures are followed.
- Maintain inventory accuracy by monitoring stock levels, conducting counts, and reporting discrepancies.
- Maintain the security and stocking of outside displays, including oil and windshield fluid.
- Ensure the washer fluid for cleaning customer windshields is clean and change as required.
- Keep the site clean and free of garbage; empty all garbage containers as needed.
- Clean the cooler and back room; stock bottles and cases; clean pumps, displays, windows, and metal in front of the building.
- Stock shelves and ensure product displays are neat and organized.
- Sweep up and/or shovel snow along curbs as needed to ensure customer and staff safety.
- Assist in the growth and overall operation of the store and gas station whenever possible.
Qualifications
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Punctuality and reliability in attending shifts and completing tasks.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Professional attitude and appearance.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00-$16.50 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
