Position Summary
Please read before applying. The PSW/Caregiver assists clients who have difficulty performing basic daily routines. The duties of a caregiver include providing companionship, assisting with personal care, and delivering medication.
The PSW/caregiver provides clients with the highest quality care imaginable. They will develop and stick to a daily care schedule and modify care plans as instructed by medical personnel. Additionally, the caregiver notifies management of any new conditions or requirements that may arise.
A competent PSW/Caregiver possesses exceptional interpersonal skills. They are attentive and devoted to their client, ensuring that the client feels safe and at peace.
Responsibilities
● Assist with mobility and safe transfers.
● Assist with activities of daily living, including daily peri-care, oral care, eye care, dressing, grooming, skin care, massaging feet/lower legs to promote circulation and ease pain.
● Set up and take down of bath bench for Assisted Showers.
● Ensure daily medications, vitamins, and other medications are taken as prescribed.
● Plan and prepare meals.
● Monitor the client’s overall condition and document any changes of note.
● Maintain a running list of groceries, cleaning supplies, etc., for purchase.
● Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning of kitchen and bathroom (sinks, bathtub, wipe down bathroom tiles after showers, outside of the toilet/ensure the seat is kept clean, floors, fridge, vacuuming around mother’s bedroom).
● Dispose of garbage and recycling appropriately.
● Assist patients with daily walking (am/pm), balancing, and light exercises with a resistance band, or body weight.
● Express any concerns related to the client’s care regarding equipment and home safety, or observations of any health-related issues to be addressed by a medical professional.
● Encourage the client to participate in their preferred social activities such as crosswords, word games, reading, puzzles, story telling, etc., and participate with them.
● Other duties as requested within the scope of the position.
Qualifications● Must have a valid drivers license and reliable vehicle
High School Diploma or GED
● CPR/FA, 1 & 2 (within 6-12 months of hire), and CPI certification and/or any mandated certification
● Minimum 2 years of professional or personal experience working as a PSW/caregiver; an equivalent combination may be considered
● Ability to maintain daily notes, health checks, and various forms pertaining to the health and safety
● Vulnerable Sector Check is required
● Current First Aid Training is required
● CPR training is an advantage

● Must follow any safety or infectious disease protocols that are in place
